Medicare with Care

Have Supplement Insurance Pay All Your Copayments, Coinsurance and Deductibles (depending on plan)

Medicare is not full coverage

Did you know that Original Medicare does not fully cover all of your Hospital and Medical expenses? Original Medicare consists of Hospital Insurance (Part A) and Medical Insurance (Part B). Original Medicare pays a good share of Medicare approved amounts for covered health care costs, but it does not pay these costs fully. That’s where a Medicare Supplement insurance can help – paying for deductibles, coinsurance and co-payments – not covered by Original Medicare that would otherwise be your responsibility.

Filling in the gaps

If a person has chosen the Original Medicare option, he or she is also eligible to purchase a Medicare Supplement insurance plan. Medicare Supplement insurance, also known as Medigap or Med Supp is private health insurance that supplements Original Medicare and helps an individual pay the coinsurance, copayments and/or deductibles not covered by Medicare. Medicare Supplement insurance is regulated by the federal government through the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) and requires insurers to only sell standardized plans, which means they include the same benefits and features, regardless of the company a consumer purchases the coverage through.

Turning 65 - Guaranteed

There are several things individuals should know before applying for a Medical Supplement insurance. Initial Enrollment is guaranteed issue, which means you cannot be turned down for any health reasons. The best time to apply for a Medicare Supplement insurance is the seven month period surrounding your 65th birthday – three months before, the month of, and three months after your birthday. If you are over 65 you may still apply for a Medicare Supplement. Already have a Supplement plan give us a call about lowering your rate.

Learn the basics of Medicare Part A and Part B, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplements in the above short video above.
Trade offs between Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement Plans One out of every five Medicare Advantage provider networks plans did not include a regional academic medical center – these institutions usually offer the highest quality care and top specialists - and only 40% of Medicare Advantage provider networks include top-quality cancer centers, as indicated by membership in the National Cancer Institute’s network. Medicare Supplements are not limited to a network so you can go directly to any doctor or specialist in the country that accepts medicare. On the other end Medicare Advantage may be just fine if you are healthy, but problems may crop up if your healthcare needs become more complex and you have very specific healthcare provider preferences.
